Mylor Oval and Sherry Park

A unique setting in the beautiful Adelaide Hills

Mylor Oval and Sherry Park are the centrepiece of the Mylor township, which sits nestled in the Adelaide Hills. We invite visitors to enjoy this beautiful spot. Please note that camping is not allowed according to the local council bylaws.

Mylor survey

Adelaide Hills Council and the local Mylor Community conducted a community survey late in 2019. The responses tell us about ourselves and our community.

We are always looking for more members and supporters for our Oval – the ‘jewel in the crown’ of Mylor!  If you wish to join us, please contact

Mylor Cricket Club

Long time tenant Mylor Cricket Club (established in 1893) operates from October to February, providing a great opportunity to enjoy the local environment.

Mylor Community Market

Mylor Community Market, set on the beautiful Mylor Oval, is held on the first Sunday of each month 9.00 am to 1.00 pm.

Come and browse, enjoy a breakfast BBQ, and discover some hidden treasure.

Mylor Bonfire Night

The Mylor Bonfire Night has been held annually for over 20 years. It is the Mylor Primary School’s major fundraiser for the year and attracts visitors from all over Adelaide and the Hills.

The English Ale

The English Ale (Ale meaning singing, dancing, drinking and making merry) is a seasonal gathering to celebrate the customs and ritual traditions from the British Isles that still survive today. The English Ale is organised by like minded ‘Anglophiles’ who are passionate and proud of these living customs and want to see them continue and survive in this far away land of Australia.

Mylor Oval and Sherry Park have beautiful facilities that are for the benefit of all residents in the area.

The Oval stretches from Strathalbyn Road across the beautiful Aldgate Creek to the hillside beyond. There is a free electric BBQ as well as picnic tables.

Sherry Park, home to the old bootmaker’s cottage, has a children’s playground and picnic areas.

We are grateful to our sporting and recreation partners for their support – without them we would not be able to maintain the Oval to the standard the community can enjoy. The Oval club rooms can be hired for functions.

Mylor Oval and Sherry Park fall under the custodianship of the Adelaide Hills Council but are managed by Mylor Oval Management Incorporated.

We are a group of community volunteers, helping to promote and maintain the oval, park and other facilities for the enjoyment of our community and our sporting and recreation partners.
